Beskrivelse: This species is endemic to Norfolk Island. In 1994 the population was down to 4 females and about 30 males. Now there are 200-300 individuals after a sucsessful captive breeding program.The birds are concentrated in the north-western island around Mount Pitt, in Norfolk Island National Park. Norfolk Island is a small island in the Pacific Ocean between Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia.
